Grand Rapids Area Unemployment Down Significantly In September

As released in the Bureau of Labor Statistics report last month, Michigan’s unemployment rate, seasonally adjusted, held steady at 4.1 percent in September. Not seasonally adjusted, the unemployment rate fell from 4.0 percent in August to 3.7 percent in September. 

Locally, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report released on November 2, the Grand Rapids – Wyoming metropolitan area unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) dropped from 3.4 percent in August to 3.2 percent in September.

Michigan continues to make great progress towards recovering economic losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
